These are biologically active, purified natural products that are structurally elucidated and offer scope for development. Microbes are isolated in the laboratory using proprietary techniques particularly targeting endophytic fungi, actinomycetes and bacteria. Compounds are then isolated and assayed using BioDiscovery’s miniaturised high throughput assays. Compounds exhibiting activities of interest are then further purified and chemically characterised at the Wellington laboratory, which is fully equipped with modern HPLC, LC-MS, UV and light scattering detectors and related equipment. Structures are elucidated using high resolution mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance provided as part of our relationship with Industrial Research Limited (IRL).
