BioDiscovery's main site houses microbiology and fermentation facilities, high-throughput screening, flow cytometry and molecular biology suites, and controlled environment plant growth facilities. The Company’s extensive microbe collection is also housed here. The laboratory is staffed by four scientists, seven technicians and several part-time research assistants.  The company also employs a computing specialist to oversee data management systems.

The BioDiscovery facility at Wellington is dedicated to natural product chemistry.  The laboratory is equipped with a range of preparative, semi-preparative and analytical HPLC equipment and an LC-MS.  The laboratory is currently staffed by one scientist, with room for significant expansion.  The laboratory is part of the Government-owned Industrial Research Ltd (IRL) research site and IRL provide high-resolution mass-spectrometry and NMR (300 MHz and 500 MHz).
